Today, the Sisterhood went out for their second outing, and first “all girls only” outing of the sem. Presenting, the bo-s….

From the left of the picture, we have Limbo , Kimbo, Conbo and Tiangbo.
it all began with us having very bimbotic hyeli with the VERY ORIGINAL name of Kim. Hence, someone gave her the name Kimbo. And since yl’s always weird and super hyper, someone called her limbo. And we started to call Cons conbo, which sounds really good i think. And me became Ohbo. Which I would prefer oboe, at least its a musical instrument. But kimbo insisted on calling me Oh!bo with the ! mark. grrr.haha. Me G and YL came unplanned in dresses. muahaha.
Our original plan was to visit Swiss Culture , the one circled in pink in the row of shops.Compared to the very cool website that we visited previously which made us think it was some posh restaurant, plus the very nice picture, we were a bit surprised to see that we had no restuarant seats to sit but only those at the outside of the shop. Nevertheless, we checked out the price of the menu and we realised most of the things were quite expensive. Like close to $20 for each main dish.
And there’s was Kushinbowl 2 shops down, on the right of the first picture. It was my first time seeing that shop after hearing it for so long from so many people. The buffet cost 25+++ around that range. And I think we were a bit tempted to go. Waited for kimbo to arrive and we spent quite some time before deciding to stick to original plan and just visit Swiss Culture.
After much deliberating, wrong info presented by the staff and etc, we got the following dishes.
-
-
Cheese fondue with bread $38.80 that serves 2
-
Chocolate fondue complimentary that serves 2(original price $14.80) (for reason why its complimentary, can ask me personally)
-
2 set lunches that come tgr with a salad and a corn chowder soup and cakes (i have no idea why there’s only 1 salad and 1 corn chowder soup. shouldn’t it be 2 since there were 2 meals?) ($16+ for each set of meal)
-
complimentary starter = 4 pieces of real crispy chicken wings (free with 2 set lunches purchased)
-

The 4 pretty girls with the salad, wings and chowder. We were wondering why was it called corn chowder and not cream of corn.
chow·der (chou’dər) n.
- A thick soup containing fish or shellfish, especially clams, and vegetables, such as potatoes and onions, in a milk or tomato base.
- A soup similar to this seafood dish: corn chowder.
They provided really good services, such as bringing out stools for us to put our bags. We created quite a din, laughing away, taking loads of pictures, etc etc. muahahha. they probably remember us now.

Our sausage meal

Our steak meal.
it was quite good getting these 2 set lunches because we got free starters. And the cheese fondue came only with bread. Alot of bread though. however, each separate sides to go with the cheese fondue such as chicken pieces, sausage pieces or steak pieces cost like $12 or $14 per dish. Hence, by gettin the set meal, we cut the meat up and got to dip them into the cheese fondue. works just as nice.
The choc fondue was complimentary for a reason which i shall not state publicly. however, if you had gotten the sides with the cheese fondue, it would have been complimentary too. Hence, let’s just say we were plain lucky !
I think its my first time eating steak. Not really a beef lover. And I think after this try, I would still prefer my chicky and fishie.haha
This was how the cheese and choc fondue look like in the website.

This was how ours look like.

Not too much difference. the fruits din appear coz they came with the choc fondue for our dessert which is in G’s camera. will get pic frm her soon.

Conbo and Limbo terrified by the cheese. Coz limbo was going on and on about how they would cause clots to form in the blood vessels and hence artherosclerosis and yada yada.hahaha. We told her not to say anymore and just enjoy eating or else we would not go on grad trip with her where we probably will have more of such stuff….
Conbo n limbo commented that they like the cheese and it wasn’t too bad for people like them who don’t really like cheese. however me n G thought it was too bitter , in the sense there was too much cheese, and could have been saltier and more of the cheese fragrance. nevertheless, still worth trying for the experience
The choc fondue pic from the website which doesn’t deviate much from ours. pretty good end to the whole meal in terms of summing up the taste of cheese and meat with something sweet.
When the bill came, it was only $16 per pax. We were pleasantly surprised as we would probably have spent additional $10 more if we had gone to Kushinbowl, and might not necessarily had as good an experience with the Swiss taste.
All in all, the sisterhood is very pleased with the service and the experience at Swiss Culture and we probably give it 4-4.5 star out of 5 stars.
Will definitely go again !
It was a good day of laughter and stupid things which was followed by watching Step Up2.
Really fun outing. Looking forward to more!
